"Afric Simone-Jambo Jambo (Boogie Baby)-1978 Mozambique":

Afric Simone (born 17 July 1956) is a singer, musician and entertainer. He was born in Brazil, to a Brazilian father and Mozambique-origin mother, but at the age of 9 (after his father's death) he and his mother had to move to her motherland Mozambique on the east coast of Africa, in the capital city Lourenço Marques, now Maputo. Once, when he appeared on stage in Maputo, his manager asked him to come to London.
With first steps in show business in London, he has gathered invaluable experience for appearances in other European capitals. He gathered experience in doing gigs all over Europe. He was lucky that Eddie Barclay, the French record tycoon went to see a show in Paris. They immediately signed the contract.
Afric Simone speaks German, English, Portuguese, French, Spanish and various African languages, however his songs are written in the mixture of Swahili and few words from other languages. This idea resulted in a mixture of his own native tongue and European Happy Sound.
He was very popular during 1975 - 1980 on both sides of the iron curtain. Simone toured the USSR, Poland, the GDR, and Czechoslovakia in the Eastern Bloc.

"The Music Machine - Turn On -1966 US":

The Music Machine's first album, was released in 1966 to back up their hit single "Talk Talk" with its snarling vocal and fuzz-drenched guitar. The lyrics dark and sinister images were reflected in the band's appearance, dressed in black from head to toe, complete with black guitars and a single black leather glove. A great garage album!!!

"Cal Tjader-Last Bolero In Berkeley-1973 US":

Callen Radcliffe Tjader, Jr. a.k.a. Cal Tjader (July 16, 1925–May 5, 1982) was a Latin jazz musician, though he also explored various other jazz idioms. Unlike other American jazz musicians who experimented with the music from Cuba, the Caribbean, and Latin America, he never abandoned it, performing it until his death.

Tjader primarily played the vibraphone. He was also accomplished on the drums, bongos, congas, timpani, and the piano. He worked with numerous musicians from several cultures. He is often linked to the development of Latin Rock and Acid Jazz. Although fusing jazz with Latin music is often categorized as "Latin Jazz" (or, earlier, "Afro-Cuban Jazz"), Tjader's output swung freely between both styles.

He won a Grammy in 1980 for his album La Onda Va Bien, capping off a career that spanned over forty years.

"Collage-Same-1971 US":

Collage were Darrell Holt (piano-vocals-trumpet), twins Liz and Chris Brandesky (vocals), Phil Walker (string/electric bass), and Dan Prado (drums).

They formed in 1970 while attending Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas and played many venues in the San Antonio area before recording this album for Golden Crest Records in 1971.

from back cover:
"COLLAGE is "NOW" and thorougly enjoyable. Composer-arranger-director and performing artist, Darrell Holt, has molded this group from today's generation into one of the mostpleasant-to-listen to groups in the fied of entertainment.
They have worked together since the Fall of 1970 and have met with rapid and total acceptance wherever they have performed. Their recently completed month-long engagement at the Hilton-Palacio del rio Hotel in San Antonio brought them to the attention of Golden Crest Records resulting in the cutting of this album. Their specially tailored arrangements include old standards done in an up-dated manner as well as currently popular tunes.
Director Holt plays the piano, sings and sometimes adds a chorus at the trumpet. Featured songsters are the lovely Liz and Chris Brandesky, identical twins, whose voices and appearance would be an asset to any group. The rhythm section has Phil Walker on string or electric bass, and Dan Prado on drums.
Liz,Chris,Phil and Dan are all music students at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches,Texas where Darrell Holt is an Assistant Professor of Music and director of the University Lab Band and Jazz Vocal class. Professional devotion to their art has enabled this group to develop a thoroughly listenable quality of performance which is a delight to both the "rock" and more traditional "jazz" buffs.
Golden Crest Records proudly presents-COLLAGE-the smoothest sound of the modern scene."
